Double Raven Raven was the creator of the world according to legends of Southeast Alaska. The reason for this is simple; as everywhere you saw raven or ravens. If you saw a moose you saw a Raven, a bear the same thing and so on. Many legends of the Raven give him credit for great powers to create. Native people of Southeast Alaska formed clans and the first clan was the Raven Clan when Raven married the fish women raising a family of 4 girls and 4 boys thus the name Double Raven
Double Duck Waterfowl is abundant all over the coastal waters of North America. Ducks are good source of protein and were hunted during the migration seasons. Sometimes native people would honor an animal for giving up their lives to sustain humans. Clans or villages would use that name for their Clan. This painting shows two ducks back to back meaning there are many ducks that migrate north and south, I call it Double Duck.

Frog Family Raven gave the frog the guardianship of all the treasures of the world so he could create land. Frog gave the Raven bags of sand from his water domain and Raven scattered the sand over the water and making islands of all sizes. This was the beginning of all things as the Raven fulfilled his promise to the fish women to create land. Frogs are the guardians of the water people and if you watch a frog he will hide on the shore and when approached he will jump into the water and tell his people of danger.
Hawk Hawks are considered by native people to have great flying ability, courage, and guard their domain against other raptors. Hawk feathers attached to your weapons mean you have the courage to use them. Many warriors wear the feathers to show their courage and power to protect their families.
Frogs Frogs are all over the world. They have a bond to the water to proliferate their species. Some frogs can survive many years buried in the ground until it rains. This painting is showing their attachment to water and connection to the land. The children of the frog are shown at the top separating from the parents to seek food.
