| First Snow Moose |
| The first snow in Alaska triggers the male moose that the mating season is starting and they gather in certain places to show their size and strength. They do not engage in the rut challenges but intimidate each other by rolling their racks and standing their ground. I have seen this happen in the Matsu valley and I have heard that more than forty male moose occupy a square mile area. |
