The Whale Shark is the largest fish in the ocean and
can reach lengths of 60 feet or more. They are not a
predator like their smaller cousins but feeds on
small fish and plankton. They cruise along slowly
with their giant mouth open sucking in their food.
They are also very docile to divers and some times
will allow people to ride along.
Grey Whales migrate from the gulf of Mexico to
Alaska feeding grounds. They stay close to the
shore when migrating. They feed on small worms,
clams, crabs and other creatures embedded in the
sandy bottom. When feeding they roll on their side
and scrap out large areas of sand and mud straining
out the food thru broom like appendages.
